Sometime in between Christmas and New Year’s Eve I bought a casual dress which caught my eye immediately. Unfortunately, I came home and found out that I didn’t like it after all… Does it also happen to you? It has laid in the wardrobe for a month or so when I decided to do something about it, give the plain dress a new life and make it wearable. At first I thought I could use some accessories, but no… not for this kind of dress. Let’s paint it! Yes, that’s what I’m talking about!
I associate the light blue sky colour with freedom, unlimited possibilities, wind on your face and in your hair – just as I could fly, as I was a bird. That was my inspiration for the pattern. I also followed my friends tatoo, which looks more or less like this. I made it with black acrylic paint, the same way I did my folklore T-shirt, but excluding the part with overdrawing the pattern. However, in this case the task was a bit harder, because the fabric that the dress is made from is kind of ridged and it was a nightmare to paint on it. Eventually I made it, how do you like the end result?
