Inspiration is a very important thing for every craftsman, because you can’t create without an idea. With the little experience I have I must say that it is hard to find some inspiration, but I’m sure about one thing, nature is full of inspirations, especially in spring when everything blossoms. So the inspiration for today’s necklace was nature itself, specifically speaking, one particular beautiful insect – dragonfly.
If somebody told me a few yeras ago that I made a necklace using tights I would laugh in his face, but today? Today, I made a necklace using tights, in other words a recycling in full swing 🙂
Everything started with turquoise cabochon. I have never embroidered with a peyote stitch and decided that bezeling the cabochon would be a perfect begining. A small cabochon pendant bezeled with beads – it was supposed to be a quick and easy project, it was supposed to be…but was it? Check that out 🙂
I’m the kind of person who thinks thoroughly about the things she throws away, because you never know how and when the things can become of any use to you. However don’t worry, my house has not yet turned into a rubbish dump and I’m not addicted to rubbish collecting, let’s say that for now I’m only an harmless domestic hamster;) It often happens that it’s a pity to get rid of some things just like that, you can always give them a second life, right?
No, I don’t have Monday in mind, not even the day when you don’t want to do a thing, because the weather is terrible. I’m talking about a day when you have planned to do a new project, you are thinking about the colours, you are getting more and more excited and you can’t wait until you will find a moment to start creating.
A box of safety pins in my closet…lying around all those years…useless……oh! I wish…!:/ the hardest thing in making today’s necklace was buying the package of safety pins, can you imagine!? I couldn’t … Wandering around from shop to shop, the only thing I noticed was that they were neither in numbers I wanted nor at the price I thought pins should be, however I found them in the end. What a relief!
Hand made necklace embroidered with gold&brown beads and pearls. Made on brown felt.
Hand made necklace for Christmas or any other special occasion 🙂 rich in different seed beads, ribbons, chains, buttons, bow, cabochons and TOHO beads – in black&white colours. Made on white felt and organza (ok, to be honest it’s not exactly organza, but part of my curtain, and no, I didn’t cut it to make the necklace;) I had some leftovers, which I thought could be a perfect foundation)
Hand made necklace inspired by meteorites (embroidered with blue, dark blue, emerald, violet, turquoise beads on dark blue felt with a dark blue ribbon)
